Renewal
It was a beautiful
house.
For a century,
it stood resolute.
Its black and white
façade,
hid its fair share of
untold secrets
conspiracy.
But also housed
joy and happiness.
It went through a
war,
3 years under a
rising sun
and lived to see it
set.
Then a crescent moon,
five stars.
A young nation.
Then the bulldozers
came. Tore it down.
This precious time
capsule.
All that heritage,
history,
crumbled into dust.
They said,
It was all in the
name of progress,
And Renewal.

The coolest thing about this poem is the thing i blacked out in the middle. I actually wrote that stanza, then decided it sucked, but since the last line of the pervious stanza is "untold secrets" I highlighted it in black rather than delete the stanza XD
